LABIAPLASTY

During pregnancy the vulva and labia majora increase in size and stretch during vaginal birth. The skin remains elongated and some of the connective tissue may be broken so the skin appears to be lax and loose. After being torn, stretched and sometimes cut during the delivery, it is very hard for the vulva to return to its pre-delivery form. It may also become loose after weight loss, age and repeated pregnancies. The procedure is performed in office and the excess skin is removed. Pain is minimal, but results are long-lasting and dramatic. Please schedule a consultation as prices vary per patient.

CLITORAL HOOD REDUCTION

Some women have excess skin over and on the sides of the clitoris, which makes it look large and protruding. The skin is in an inverted V shape that is sometimes tight or long covering the clitoris – thus the term “hood”.

Generally this is caused by genetics, estrogen, and testosterone exposure, especially during pregnancy. Even after female genital surgery, such as labiaplasty of the labia minora and/or labia majora, the clitoris may still look disproportionate and not very pleasing. The excess skin in the clitoral area may cause irritation and discomfort during sexual activity.

The hood reduces sensitivity and may lead to decreased sexual satisfaction. Trimming that skin allows the clitoris to be less covered and thus much more easily stimulated during intercourse. The release of a tight hood or shortening of it leads to a much more satisfying sexual sensation. These extra folds on the sides of the clitoris may be gently and precisely excised and recontoured. The trauma to the nerve ends can be avoided if done correctly. This procedure is not in any way related to clitoral circumcision or mutilation. The clitoris itself and its nerves are never touched. Clitoral Hood Reduction (aka Clitoropexy) takes about one hour and is done in the office under local anesthesia with light oral sedation. This procedure is often combined with labiaplasty, or reduction of the labia for similar indications.

Pre Tan Preparation

• Shower, exfoliate (sugar and water on a wash cloth will do the trick), and remove body hair 24 to 8 hours prior to you tanning session.
• Skin should be clean and dry before being sprayed. Moisturizers, make-up and deodorants should be removed.
• Remove all contact lens and jewelry before spraying.
• Wear dark, loose fitting clothing and flip flops or sandals to your tanning session. The cosmetic bronzer may rub off on your clothing.

After Tan Care and Maintenance

• After your tan do not swim, shower, wax, exercise or sweat for at least 6-8 hours.
• After 6-8 hours shower as normal, but do not exfoliate or use abrasive cleansers. You may see some bronzer wash off in the shower — this is normal. The DHA is a clear ingredient the bronzers are added to the spray so it can be seen as it is sprayed onto your body. You will still have a bronze tan on your skin.
• After showering, apply South Seas® Moorea Moisturizer to hydrate your skin. Applying the moisturizer a couple times each day will assist in prolonging the tan.
• For maintenance use South Seas® Tahitian Extender and Tan Mist to extend and for touch ups.
